Continuing in the right things always receives reward in the end. It may be hard when your spouse is not reciprocating, but God sees your efforts.
Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (NIV)
Many people are in hurting relationships. One spouse may be attacking the relationship due to past hurts. Maybe one spouse is bitter and will not receive affirmation or compliments. Do not give up in doing good! Even when it seems hopeless in your own eyes, God sees your efforts! He understands that you are trying to turn around and better your marriage.
Your reward may not be on this earth. The Lord still allows free will, and so reconciliation is not a promised reward. BUT God promises heavenly rewards—a spiritual harvest. Know that as you tirelessly desire to work towards a better marriage, the Lord delights in you; He takes pride in you. The Lord loves when someone upholds the covenant. The Lord loves when someone humbly serves their spouse!
Once again, do not give up! We at NAME believe in you. You can do it, servant of the Lord! Work against your flesh, and keep giving and serving, no matter how hard it may seem. You WILL reap what you sow—that is a promise of God.
